Other Details to Note

NOISE: Like many hotel and similar stays, some muffled footstep noise from above can occasionally be heard, depending on how guests above move around. Our acoustic carpet and sound-deadening underlay minimise this as much as possible, and guests rarely find it disruptive. However, if you’re a light sleeper and / or would find this intolerable, we recommend booking the top-floor micro-apartment, Hive. PARKING: There is no dedicated car park for this micro-apartment. There is free 2-hour on-street parking on the street the apartment is on. We've never seen the parking monitored and our guests park there with no problems. STAIR ACCESS ONLY This is not an accessible apartment. It is not suitable for people with accessibility issues. ADDITIONAL EXPERIENCE: We own a fully restored, custom-designed 1966, 13-window, double-door VW Kombi. It's painted Gulf blue in a matt finish with Champagne colour feature accents and a tan leather interior. It's one of a kind, and a bit of a local rockstar here on the Streets of Braddon. If you want that bit of extra attention when you show up to an event, or you need a ridiculously cool transfer to or from the airport, or you're just keen to explore the Canberra wine region and enjoy the ride too, we have a bunch of packages that will no doubt help to create a memorable stay. Holla if you're interested in getting more info and pricing when you book.

Accessibility and Availability

Neighborhood

Braddon is Canberra's most densely populated suburb, so it's no surprise that the lifestyle and entertainment options in Braddon are thriving. Braddon is home to arguably some of the best coffee in Canberra. Even the most particular of coffee connoisseurs will be impressed by Barrio Collective Coffee, on Lonsdale Street and Lonsdale Street Roasters. Also on Lonsdale Street is a slew of bars and restaurants, with spots along this strip topping many of Canberra’s ‘must-visit’ lists for brunch, breweries, vino, and vibes. Staying right in the heart of it all guarantees you’ll never be bored — with different spots for date night every day of the week, there’s no reason to venture beyond Braddon. Particularly worthy of mention is Bentspoke, which is consistently named as one of Canberra’s best microbreweries, eightysix restaurant, and our favorite, Corella. You’ll see plenty of impressive street art along the roadside buildings and several yoga studios and modern gyms, art classes, and music schools all located in Braddon. Haig Park comes to life every Sunday with the Haig Park Markets. From live music, delish street eats, fresh produce, and everything in between, it's a must-do if you're in town over the weekend. When you want to head out but don't want to get right into it on Lonsdale Street, The Howling Moon is at the end of the street, right next to the Astin apartments. It's a rooftop bar with arguably one of the best views across Canberra. You can settle in with a bottle of wine or two, get some snacks or drop in for a main meal.

Guest Access

Stair access only. You'll have access to the entire 1 bedroom micro-apartment.

Perfect place to stay as a solo traveller. The micro apartment has been designed really well to maximise every inch of space. Comfortable and large bed and great waterfall shower. I just parked right outside on the street with no issues - it’s residential even though it’s so close to the urban center. I stayed in the middle apartment so could hear people walking upstairs and was very conscious of being quiet so as not to disturb the guests in the apartment below. Also know there are a few flights of stairs if mobility is an issue - no lift. Would definitely stay again.

The keyless entry system was super easy. Loved the unique design and decor. Great location, easy parking, easy walk to Lonsdale St and light rail station. It took a while to locate the tissue box, and I could’ve used a shower cap! Little issues…no big deal

It has everything that i needed for a week’s stay. The access to streaming on Netflix and Stan was a bonus! There is a local small shop nearby for any groceries and liquor and a chicken shop next door. I will be returning again in the future! All was great. Sometimes i would argue with the outside keypad to gain access but i found that going slower while entering the pin often helped! It’s a bit temperamental! Inside door is easy in comparison.

Everything was incredible. So much attention to details in everything. From the guide to the welcome chocolates toblerone through all the products. We were very impressed. Not so common in Australia
